We've lived in our house for 10 years and have never had a bathroom in the basement. We didn't think it was feasible because we have a septic tank and the pipe leaving the house is about 16" off the floor. It was clear that conventional toilets would not work and digging up the concrete floor would not entirely solve the problem either. We now have two small children so we spend a lot more time in the basement and needed to have a bathroom on the same level. We were even looking at buying another house until we found out about your product.
My husband is very handy and built it all himself. Our laundry room was bigger than we needed so we framed off a portion of the end for the bathroom. This allowed us to locate all the plumbing for the Saniplus on the laundry side of the bathroom, keeping the appearance of the inside of the bathroom simple and less industrial-looking. This also cuts down on the noise of the pump. When the toilet is flushed you really have to listen to hear the pump run, which is good because there is bedroom right beside it. We use this new toilet several times daily and is much better than having to go upstairs. We have since told two different friends about it and they plan on doing the same thing! The best part is that the entire bathroom only cost about $1200. I'm sending a picture of the bathroom and another one that shows the plumbing on the laundry room side.
