The Sanipump is larger than the Sanishower and will handle a bathtub, a laundry sink, and more. It is more powerful than the Sanishower, but more economical than the Sanivite. The foot print is small and the sound level is quite low, and can therefore be placed inside a cupboard quite easily.
The Sanipump unit is comprised of a pressure chamber, which starts and stops the unit and the motor, which drives the pump. When water is entering the Sanipump a microswitch in the pressure chamber is activated, which in turn starts the motor. The motor is sealed for life in an oil filled enclosure. A spindle drives the impeller, the moving parts therefore are kept to an absolute minimum. Water enters the chamber and are pumped away into the sanitary sewer. The pump operates at 10 PSI and pumps the waste upwards to 16 feet and/or 150 feet horizontally. Once the water is discharged and the water level in the container goes down, the microswitch deactivates the unit until water enters the unit again. A normal operating cycle for Sanipump can be as short as 2–10 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration, power consumption is therefore minimal.
The waste water from other sanitary fixtures is discharged into the Sanipump via three 1½-inch inlets. Either one, two, or all three inlets can be used as required. The discharge elbow on top of the Sanipump can be turned either to the left or to the right, depending on the discharge installation. The Sanipump may be vented, there is a 1½-inch connection on the top of the unit. The discharge pipe size may be made from 1-inch material.
The Sanipump is small enough to fit comfortably inside a kitchen cabinet or vanity.
