Cottage owner takes advantage of Saniflo® above-floor plumbing solution
Case Studies 03/05/2019
“We love the added convenience of having a second bathroom on the lower level”. Cottage owner takes advantage of Saniflo® above-floor plumbing solution to add second bathroom on lower level.
Adding an additional bathroom to the home or cottage is a common project on many renovation wish lists. However, breaking up the concrete floor and having to run all new plumbing can be challenging and expensive. If you want an easy-to-install solution, consider an abovefloor plumbing system.
“We had a wet bar area in the basement of our cottage that we weren’t really using and wanted to convert into a second bathroom,” said Jim Pedretti, cottage owner and Saniflo customer. “The main waste plumbing of our cottage is above ground level, so a traditional drain and toilet set-up would not work. We discovered the Saniflo Sanicompact® system at our local supply store and immediately knew it was the best solution for us.”
The Sanicompact system is a great option for installing additional plumbing where no drain line exists or where it would be too costly or too difficult to excavate and run piping. This compact, self-contained toilet contains an internal macerating blade and powerful up-flush pump, and is ideal for small spaces thanks to its contemporary, tankless design. The Sanicompact system easily connects to the existing plumbing network of a home or cottage. It is designed to handle the effluent from a toilet, sink, bathtub, and/or shower, making this unit perfect for a powder room, full or half-bathroom installation.
“The installation of the Sanicompact toilet and a sink connection was pretty easy,” said Jim. “Saniflo technical support answered all our questions regarding drain pipe specifications and how to correctly position the adapter clamps from the toilet pump exit to the rigid wall connection. We love the added convenience of having a second bathroom on the lower level so that we no longer have to go upstairs every time,” he continued.
