Three Ideas for an Empty Room

If you have an empty room in your home and you already have a guest bedroom and an office, here are some other great ideas on how to transform your empty space into something better.

Hobby Room
Have a great collection of books or other items? Handy with a sewing machine? Maybe you play an instrument or two? Why not create a dedicated space for your favorite hobby!
Whether it be reading, music, sewing, collecting or whatever you enjoy doing in your downtime, a hobby room is a great way to make use of an empty room.
Some built-in shelving, comfy seating and good lighting are all that’s needed to create a cozy home library where you can relax for hours, book in hand. A lightweight table and ample storage solutions transform the space into a sewing or craft room for the creative hobbyist.

Gym or Fitness Room
If you’re passion is staying in shape, a home gym or yoga studio may be the ideal way to escape the humdrum of everyday life and work on finding peace and strength within yourself.
An ideal fitness room should feel light and airy. If adding more windows isn’t an option, opt for recessed lighting. Add a few air purifying plants to help boost oxygen levels in the room. Also, consider mounting a large mirror on one wall, which is both great for making the space feel larger, and for evaluating your form as you exercise.

Add a half-bathroom for convenience quickly and easily with the Saniplus system from Saniflo. The Saniplus is a macerating pump that can be installed above-floor with minimal construction, and can handle the wastewater from a toilet, sink and shower.

Add a few key pieces of equipment, like free weights, a yoga mat, and a stability ball, and you’re ready to start enjoying workouts in the comfort of your own home.

Game/Media Room
Why not think about converting your empty room into a hangout zone for the whole family? You can use this space to watch movies, listen to music or host family game night. To create the perfect leisure space, a comfy sofa and wall-mounted TV are a must. Smart storage solutions such as footstools that double as a place to store extra blankets or a cabinet to hide your games when not in use help keep the room clutter-free and organized.
A game room can also be an excellent space for entertaining when friends and family come over. To avoid having to run back and forth to the kitchen, consider adding in a wet bar to make serving beverages and snacks easier.

With the Sanivite drain water pump from Saniflo, you can install a bar sink to add function and convenience to your entertainment room. The Sanivite is quiet and compact, so it fits easily within the bar itself. Lastly, add a mini fridge, a popcorn maker and a few pantry shelves to store your favorite snacks.
