Installing a toilet

Because this type of need is important and it is necessary to combine technical requirements and your aesthetic choices, SFA is the perfect solution for you! Do you choose a wall-hung toilet or a porcelain toilet bowl?

How to install the toilet?

When the sanitary line is not nearby, installing a toilet or bathroom can be difficult, if not impossible. Macerator or Grinder installation are quick and easy to install. These are solutions that will allow you to install a bathroom anywhere and without a lot of work.

Why install Macerator or Grinder pump?

The installation of these pumps makes it possible to create a real sanitary installation anywhere in the house, even in the absence of gravity drainage, without requiring major and often expensive construction work. Indeed, you only need a water inlet, an electrical outlet and a sanitary line connection. Thanks to its efficient maceration system, the evacuation is carried out in small diameter pipes to facilitate careful installation. An ideal solution to arrange additional bathrooms and gain privacy when inviting friends or family members.

In addition, this investment leads to the valuation of your property. Indeed, it is estimated that the creation of an additional water feature will increase the value of the property by nearly 10%. The installation of a macerator or grinder makes it possible to create a bathroom in the attic or in the basement, a toilet under the stairs, transform the closet into a toilet, and more...

The question is whether to use a Macerator or Grinder. How do you choose?

There are two types of pump that can meet different layout problems:

Macerator: a macerator placed behind a toilet with a horizontal outlet. Some models accept wastewater from several sanitary facilities (toilet, sink, shower and more) to install a complete bathroom.

Grinder: Is a heavy-dutyversion of the Macerator. The internal mechanisms are ideal for commercial jobs, such as an apartment or public restroom, where sanitary products may be accidentally flushed. This is thanks to the Grinder blade on the inside of the unit (Grinder Blades work similarly to the blades used in a blender). Once, the waste is liquified, to a consistency. Then the quiet pump discretely pushes the waste upwards. This overcomes the need for installing messy in the floor plumbing.

Another option is the use of a Self-Contained Unit.

Self-Contained Unit: is a ceramic bowl with a macerator or grinder pump on the inside. These are designed to be ideal for small spaces (installation without water tank). The operation of a Self-Contained unit, like the Macerator and Grinder - still requires water supply, an electrical outlet and a sanitary line to discharge the waste to.

Which product should I choose for my landscaping project?

To install a toilet (with a sink), choose the Saniaccess 2. This model allows water to drain from both a toilet and sink. The pump is easily installed by attaching it to the back of the china, either in front or behind the wall.

For the installation of a complete bathroom, choose the Saniaccess 3 or Sanibest Pro. These two models allow the drainage of a complete bathroom. Thanks to its powerful motor, the Saniaccess 3 can pump up to 15 ft vertically and 150 ft horizontally.  While the Sanibest Pro is ideal for commercial projects, where waste must be pumped up to 25 ft vertically and 150 ft horizontally away to the sanitary stack.

Both are equipped with silent technology. Thanks their easy-access hatch on the top you can also access the internal components for easy maintenance. This is also a plus, in case a foreign object, like a ring falls down the toilet.

For installing toilets in tight spaces, Sanicompact is the ideal choice. This model is a very compact toilet with internal macerator. It is a compact macerator ideal for small spaces (such as studios, closets, spaces under stairs) or as a substitute for a bidet. The Eco + system (dual flush: 1.8L / 3L) allows for significant savings by using only the necessary water.

To add a wall-hung toilet, you can use our Sanicompact Comfort. You can easily connect a sink to this unit, for an easy half-bathroom installation. Allowing for an easy wall hanging toilet installation. This Eco + system (dual flush: 1.8 liters / 3 liters), which allows significant savings to be made by using only the water required.

How to maintain a macerator toilet?

It is advisable to regularly clean and descale your pump.

There are descalers specially designed to descale the inside of the appliance without damaging the internal components. This formula is also suitable for septic tanks.

It is recommended to descale monthly when the water is very hard, every 3 months when the water is hard or every 9-10 months when the water is very soft, by pouring ½ container into the grinder and activating 2 times the hunt 2 hours later.
